Welcome to Echoes of Ireland CD Rom . Answer questions, take quizzes and collect Awards. Echoes will help you develop your history skills while learning about the Irish Potato Famine and its effects on the development of Liverpool.

You have two ways to run the program

1. Movie mode - Lets you run through the program one section after the other , this will launch you into the first Introduction Video.


2. Main menu - takes you to the main menu screen. There you can access the main sections or take the quiz by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the screen or check your progress by looking at the awards you have collected.

Getting Help

Within the program you can get help at any time by simply clicking the Investigation notes and going to the Intro section.

• The Intro section doubles as the help for the package. Explore it to learn how to use everything.

• look through the Intro investigation notes in the Intro section to find out how to use the various tools .

• Access the tools by clicking the icons at the bottom of the screen.

• Click on Menu to switch between sections, check on your awards or to exit the program.


• If something pops up moves or glows on your screen try clicking it to see what happens.

• Within interactions or sub pages look for close buttons on the top right.


• Remember , in content windows moving your mouse to the extreme right or left of the window will scroll left and right .
